A Leading Insurance Company located in midtown New York City has an opportunity for a Program Accountant who will handle the following responsibilities:

- Process Direct Accounts by State and line of business
- Assist with questions arising from account and cash
- Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reinsurance accruals
- Interact with Claims Department to ensure that all claims in reference to specific brokers are processed from an overall basis
- Prepare and update suspense listing consisting of new suspense and old
- Verify that lines and States are being reported accurately
- Assist with the training of staff on accounts and departments procedures
- Assist staff with problems on accounts, cash and reconciliations
- Assist on special projects and implementation of reports
- Set up payment request and special cash call settlements
- Prepare a quarterly aging to be sent for overdue cash
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for Direct & Ceded accounts receivable/​payable
- Prepare preliminary P&L on quarterly basis for each program
- Assist in the preparation of Annual Statement schedules

We are searching for candidates that meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4+​ years direct /​ reinsurance accounting experience with a P&C insurance company required
- Knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting principles.​
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
